a youth hostel that was founded in 2019 by young graduates. They were driven by their passion to travel and wander the world and so they set out to build their own hostel in Amman, Jordan with the little investments they had. The building they chose was not ready to become a hostel, so a makeover was necessary. So off they went converting the building to a hostel, while making sure they preserved the building’s heritage. Some parts of the hostel were bought form locals as a way to support the economy and bring the community together. Other furniture parts were hand-made in order to be able to manage our investments correctly. Both locals and guests painted creative designs on the walls, which reflects the most important value of the hostel – a community that brought them together.
Battuta Hostel is inspired by the life and travels of the arabic explorer Ibn Battuta. Like Ibn Battuta, we believe that travel is a journey of discovery, and we want to help our guests explore the world and themselves.
